We’re still mesmerized and still dreaming!
Judy Boris and Orest Pastachak of Regina have won $2 million on WESTERN MAX!
Boris said she scanned it in-store and thought she had made a mistake.
“I talked to the other people in the store and said, ‘Is this right?’” she said. “They said, ‘I think you won $2 million!’”
“I was shocked!” she continued. “I scanned it twice and then took it up to the cashier—she was more excited than I was!”
Boris waited until she got home to tell her partner Orest. He also took some time to truly believe what had happened!
“I didn’t believe her because she’s always playing little tricks on me,” chuckled Pastachak. “When I realized, we were in a daze—so excited!”
“You get excited when you win $10,” he added. “It’s not every day a person gets to win the lottery!”
Boris and Pastachak say they’re already excited about how they can enjoy this windfall.
“I’ve never had a new car before!” beamed Boris. “I’m going to take my time and look around for the perfect one.”
“We have a number of kids between us as well,” said Pastachak. “So, we can help them a little bit too.”
Speaking of kids, the two share a greyhound lab they affectionately call “Tanny.”
“Tanny will definitely be getting spoiled,” said Boris. “She’s like our baby!”
Ultimately, the pair are excited to enjoy retirement together in comfort.
“This money goes a long way at our age,” Pastachak said. “We’re still mesmerized and still dreaming.”
Boris and Pastachak purchased their winning WESTERN MAX ticket from Friends Convenience Store at 505 Broad St. in Regina. They won their prize by matching the selection in the October 18 WESTERN MAX draw: 18, 28, 29, 31, 37, 39, 46.
