Cole Holm

I was sitting there thinking: ‘No way this can’t be real.’

Cole Holm was much more subdued than he thought he would be when he won the lottery. The St. Benedict local won $100,000 on the CROSSWORD ticket from his PLAYER’S CHOICE MEGA PACK.

“It was funny. I was reading out the prize amounts to my girlfriend as I uncovered words,” he explained. “I said, ‘I won $50! Now $100! I think I just won $1,000 – no, wait! I won $100,000!?”

“I didn’t really react,” he continued. “I was sitting there thinking: ‘No way this can’t be real.’”

Holm said he scanned his ticket on the Lotto Spot app to confirm his prize amount.

“At that point, I felt like I should have been jumping up and down for joy,” he laughed. “I may have giggled a little bit, but that was it. I was in shock!”

The winner said he has a couple ideas for his windfall.

“Well, I’m definitely going to buy a new vehicle,” he said. “And I’d like to put some money toward a house.”

Holm purchased his $20 PLAYER’S CHOICE MEGA PACK at Humboldt Co-op C-Store, located at 300 8th Ave. in Humboldt.

PLAYER’S CHOICE MEGA PACK comes loaded with 10 popular games and prizes up to $1 million.
